SAG-AFTRA actress, host, international model and former Miss Vietnam USA 2017 Isabelle Du couldn't be more proud of her Vietnamese heritage and Asian American identity as she continues to represent in the entertainment industry.
As of November 2022, she’s getting ready to film in Hawaii for an NBC show to air in 2023. You can currently watch her on Hallmark Channel’s Hidden Gems as bridesmaid bestie Kara; Fox Monarch as marketing executive Tammy; TV One/Lifetime Stalker as celebrity assistant Riley; and Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween: Trespassers in a dual role of protective mother Madelyn and the Creature. And in between, you might even spot Isabelle in the nationally run Poshmark commercials!
Born and raised in San Jose, California, she moved to Orange County to attend Chapman University for a BA in Public Relations & Advertising. She focused on the entertainment industry and interned for Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV’s Parental Control and E!s True Hollywood Story.
Isabelle had her start in modeling when she won East West Magazine’s cover model search as the “Face of East West”. Shortly after, she booked a Wet Seal print campaign and appeared as Jay Manuel’s model on the Tyra Banks Show.
Upon graduation, Isabelle decided to pursue modeling abroad. She spent 4 years working and living abroad, mostly in Asia, and worked in countries such as Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Singapore, Argentina, Dominican Republic and even her motherland, Vietnam, where she spent the majority of her time.
Some of her work includes Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Tresemme, Logitech, Mossimo, Maxim US, Elle Vietnam, FHM Philippines, Cosmopolitan Philippines, Good Housekeeping Philippines, Gadget Magazine Indonesia and more.
Isabelle has worn all kinds of hats, both in front and behind the camera. These include being FashionTV Vietnam’s host, a scuba diving stunt double, voiceover talent, and managing female Vietnamese rap artist Suboi.
Vietnamese audiences will know Isabelle as former Miss Vietnam USA 2017 and her as the lead role in the 40-episode soap opera series Nữ Vệ Sỹ (Female Bodyguard). She is active within the Vietnamese American community and went viral with over 5+ million views for the 100 Years of Beauty Vietnam video on both Facebook and Youtube.
Isabelle then moved to Los Angeles where she worked as a recurring model for the last 6 seasons Syfy Channel’s Face Off and 2 seasons of Lifetime’s American Beauty Star with supermodels Adriana Lima and Ashley Graham.
She raced around the world with her then-boyfriend-now-husband Dennis Hour on CBS's Emmy Award winning show The Amazing Race (Season 25) and were known to fans as #TheDatingCouple. Their wedding planning was later documented on TLC’s I Want That Wedding (Episode Vietnam VS. Vegas).
For 8 years, Isabelle traveled as a Narrator/Presenter for Toyota for diverse crowds at auto shows all over the US. Her public speaking has led her to become a repeat speaker at Catalyst Foundation’s Vietnam Culture Camp in Chicago, Illinois, Hancock, Massachusettes and Delavan, Wisconsin on Asian representation in the media and Hollywood. And Isabelle recently spoke of her debt and reselling journey at this year’s Poshmark’s 10th annual PoshFest in Houston, Texas with 500 in attendance.
Although Asians and Asian Americans have been underrepresented, Isabelle continues to pursue the entertainment industry as a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in the mainstream media. She truly believes that it’s important to have children be able to see public figures that look like them and can relate to them.
